Gunnison River Fly Shop has been a feature of the Gunnison River Valley in Colorado for many years. It is known for its wide variety of flies and fly fishing gear. The experienced helpful staff will help you find your way around the Gunnison valley for your own fishing adventure, or, set you up with a guided trip. A great way to cover a lot of water and see some beautiful country.
At the beginning of 2021 the shop was purchased by Dave and Mary Cowden, both seasoned fly fishers who plan to take the existing store and grow it into something even greater! To be included in the stores growth will be; this new website, an online store, online booking, fly fishing and fly tying classes, fresh and saltwater destination trips and more. We look forward to being a part of this wonderful community!
The Owners
Dave Cowden
Dave is a Colorado native and grew up fishing the rivers of Colorado
with his family. He is a self-taught fly fisherman and caught his first fish
on a fly he tied at age 14, on the Poudre river in northern Colorado.
Mary Cowden
Mary, a Kentucky girl, loves the outdoors and loves camping with their
dogs. She learned to fly fish and often out-fishes her husband.
