December 2023 - Winter at the Fly Shop - ICE FISHING AND MORE!

As the Christmas holiday season approaches, I just wanted to take a minute and reflect on 2023.  First I would like to thank my amazing wife for putting up with our long distance marriage for yet a third season.  She has been amazing through my transition from retirement to living in Gunny in the summers and having to drive 3.5hrs to hang out with me.  We are slowly figuring things out and it will get easier. 

I want to thank all of our employees/guides for another great season of keeping our clients happy and insuring they have a great time during their stay in the valley. I know they will continue to make our company shine!

I would also like to thank our many clients that have become friends along the way! It is so amazing to see the folks that return every year and keep us afloat! And to the new clients/friends you send our way.  We aim to please and your referrals tell us, we are doing our job.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

So what's new?
Well, as a very seasonal fly shop basically April-October, winter can be a real struggle.  Last winter we introduced guided ice fishing on Blue Mesa Reservoir and as with any new adventure, it was a little slow.  We will however continue to offer that and we are confident we will build a strong winter client base as time goes on. Please, help us spread the word!! 

Also, we now have ice fishing equipment in store and available on-line!! We saw the need and feel a responsibility to the Gunnison community and visitors, to make sure our doors are open during the winter month's and what a great way to facilitate that!  PLEASE, sign up for our emails and texts so you will know what days we will be open.  As always, you can shop on-line and we will ship your items in a timely manner.
